.New York. Day 1

So as you guys know I got back from New York about a week ago and I figure this would be a great topic to blog about!
((Day 1))

If you know my sister you know that she is an organized person! (I wish I could be more like that) Well before we left for our trip she emailed me our itinerary filled to the brim of everything I could think about looking at in New York and then some!

The first day was by far the busiest and it was all the free touristy sites. Which is right up my ally! Our day started out at Central Park. I had no idea how big it was. The weather was a little chilly but over all a great day for being outside.

We went to the Plaza Hotel. Then right across from that was F.A.O. Schwarz, any young kids dream. I guess I am truly a kid a heart because this was one of my favorites. It was the toy store from Home Alone and the home of the huge piano from the movie Big!
We went to Little Italy and ate at this Italian place called Caffe Napoli. We walk in and got a little nervous because we were the only ones there. Also got grossed out a little considering behind the counter was an 8x10 picture of a big ole white dog’s face! Ew No one wants to see a picture of a dirty dog before they eat there lunch. Haha Then they brought out the bread and dipping mixture and all my doubts went away. Either I was extremely hungry or that was the best bread I had ever eaten J.
After lunch we walked down canal street and heard lowered voices say “channel, coach, rol-ex washessss” It felt like I was partaking in a drug deal trying to purchase a purse HAHA. So I find the purse I want and tell him I’ll give $30 for it.. The man literally laughs at me and walks off. I wanted to tell him, this purse is FAKE! Why in the world would I give you $80 for it.
Next we went to the the famous bull statue. Then head over to ground zero to see the memorials for the World Trade Center. That was pretty moving to see how the world pulled together like that.. I got to see little pictures that kids and drawn and sent. I saw some photos of some of the people who were killed that day. I just can’t even imagine what the people in the city thought when they saw what had happened that day.
We went to Grand Central Station. There are a couple of things that are in the station for you to find, like there is one origial brick the looks different from all the rest. Then there is an area where one person can stand in one corner and another person in the other. If you whisper into the corner the person in the other corner can hear you! HOW COOL IS THAT! We tested it and it really does work. That’s about it for day one.. as you can see we were pretty tired by the end of the day.
