New York Day 4

Sunday we meet up with some friends of Meg and Chad at Starbucks. We were all getting together to do some community service type stuff for their church. I met some really awesome people; one of them was named Jambi. I loved how open she was with her faith and didn't hesitate to ask questions she wanted to know the answers to. I wish I could be more like that! For lunch we ate at The Shake Shack, and I have officially found the best burger in the world!! We sat outside and the squirrels there were huge and they would literally eat from your hands.
Well I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

New York Day 3

We got a late start on our 3rd day. We went to Coney Island. We took the subway and it was on the complete other side. This was the most interesting ride!! There was a man that was clearly drunk and speaking Spanish and laughing to himself. He had a backpack he kept pulling out his bottle of jack and drinking it like it was a bottle of coke! He had a sample bottle of cologne and keep spraying it into his hands and rubbing it all over his face and neck ha. Although very entertaining this was the one time I really felt unsafe. He kept pointing at us saying "cafe" that was the only word I could make out. We finally get to Coney Island and head to Nathan's. Nathan's is where they have the hotdog-eating contest. Coney Island was the only place we went that was less than what I had expected. I'm glad I went and we saw some interesting things but I will skip this if I ever go back.
We went to Time Square and it was getting dark at this point. MAN that is the time to go! It was so pretty to see all the billboards flashing with bright colored lights. We went to my first Broadway show. We saw Memphis. How ironic we went to New York to watch a show about Beale Street. It was a great play. I wish we had time to see more plays.

"I'll look after you"

Four years ago today Chad told me he loved me for the first time. Little did I know it was only the beginning of our relationship. My "High School Sweetheart" turned into the person I want to spend the rest of my life with! He is the person I can tell anything and the one that can make me smile when I'm furious or even when I'm crying. I'm so blessed to have him in my life.
Maybe not the best picture but a GREAT memory! This was taken at The Fray concert, they sing mine and Chad's song "Look After You."

New York (Day 2)

Day 2 of New York was amazing! We started with the Empire State Building. It was a beautiful sight and seeing the city from that high up almost didn’t look real. We went to the 86th floor and got some awesome pictures.

We also saw the Statue of Liberty! We took a ferry and for some reason before you could get on the ferry they pretty much had airport security. Ha So I had to take off my jewelry and what not and as we were trying to find a seat I try to put my trollbead bracelet back on and unlatch the wrong side and most of my charms went rolling around on the floor. So that was interesting trying to find all my charms while people are steadily getting on the boat haha. When I saw the statue I couldn’t believe how big it really is. Next we went to Ellis Island.
Later we met up with Chad and Meg and had dinner at this little greek place called Aphrodite. Chad and Meg had a comedy show that night so went to the comedy club and had a great night. I laughed until my stomach hurt. Great ending to day 2!

.New York. Day 1

So as you guys know I got back from New York about a week ago and I figure this would be a great topic to blog about!
((Day 1))

If you know my sister you know that she is an organized person! (I wish I could be more like that) Well before we left for our trip she emailed me our itinerary filled to the brim of everything I could think about looking at in New York and then some!

The first day was by far the busiest and it was all the free touristy sites. Which is right up my ally! Our day started out at Central Park. I had no idea how big it was. The weather was a little chilly but over all a great day for being outside.

We went to the Plaza Hotel. Then right across from that was F.A.O. Schwarz, any young kids dream. I guess I am truly a kid a heart because this was one of my favorites. It was the toy store from Home Alone and the home of the huge piano from the movie Big!
We went to Little Italy and ate at this Italian place called Caffe Napoli. We walk in and got a little nervous because we were the only ones there. Also got grossed out a little considering behind the counter was an 8x10 picture of a big ole white dog’s face! Ew No one wants to see a picture of a dirty dog before they eat there lunch. Haha Then they brought out the bread and dipping mixture and all my doubts went away. Either I was extremely hungry or that was the best bread I had ever eaten J.
After lunch we walked down canal street and heard lowered voices say “channel, coach, rol-ex washessss” It felt like I was partaking in a drug deal trying to purchase a purse HAHA. So I find the purse I want and tell him I’ll give $30 for it.. The man literally laughs at me and walks off. I wanted to tell him, this purse is FAKE! Why in the world would I give you $80 for it.
Next we went to the the famous bull statue. Then head over to ground zero to see the memorials for the World Trade Center. That was pretty moving to see how the world pulled together like that.. I got to see little pictures that kids and drawn and sent. I saw some photos of some of the people who were killed that day. I just can’t even imagine what the people in the city thought when they saw what had happened that day.
We went to Grand Central Station. There are a couple of things that are in the station for you to find, like there is one origial brick the looks different from all the rest. Then there is an area where one person can stand in one corner and another person in the other. If you whisper into the corner the person in the other corner can hear you! HOW COOL IS THAT! We tested it and it really does work. That’s about it for day one.. as you can see we were pretty tired by the end of the day.
